Martin Proctor is an Emmy nominated producer, with over 20 years of television network production experience. A native of Washington, DC, he relocated to Los Angeles in 2001 to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
With a passion for visual arts, he started his career as a camera operator providing him with diverse production opportunities. This includes working for a variety of networks such as NBC, CBS, PBS, BET and E! TV and received a number of media awards including three Emmy nominations. He later joined the international TV network, The Africa Channel, as Director of Production and Field Operations where he worked for over six years. During this time, he developed and launched a series of original programs to include the acclaimed full length documentary “Finding Samuel Lowe.” Martin’s business acumen and drive allowed him to expanded network operations and build numerous bureaus throughout the continent of Africa.
Martin has served as an executive producer and created several international projects ranging from lifestyle, docu-reality and travel series that embrace different cultures in Ghana, England, Ethiopia, South Africa, Morocco, Jamaica, China, Canada and Cuba. His passion for developing authentic, unscripted programming has catalyzed cultural awareness while maintaining a high entertainment value.
He received his Bachelors of Arts in Television, Film and Photography from The George Washington University and enjoys globetrotting, history, and spending time with family.
